The artists collected field recordings in locations such as caves, abandoned mine tunnels, and vaulted cellars, and processed these along with impulse responses and edited sound materials into a dense sound collage. Using the artistic method of layering and altering the sound material, the two artists not only document acoustic environments but also transform them to create new, suggestive soundscapes. Their 6-channel audio performance was originally presented in complete darkness, creating an immersive sound experience that fits perfectly into atmospheric spaces such as churches.
The performance “klangglomerat” by auvikogue was created as part of the Cultural Autumn in the city of Geislingen an der Steige, with the theme “Geislingen Underworlds.”
